About the prize
The Ellingworth Prize was established in 2021 by Kett’s Books to recognise the contribution of our dear friend Trevor, whose friendship and energy was continuous through the first seven years of Kett’s Books. As he celebrated local history, and worked to develop Kett’s Books as part of its future, we have established this award to recognise recent writing about East Anglia which adds to our enjoyment and understanding of our region. Trevor sadly passed in 2023, and we were thrilled to be able to establish the award with his enthusiastic participation before he left us.
In order to be eligible for consideration for the award, a book must be about, or set in, Norfolk, Suffolk, or the geographical region of East Anglia. It can be fiction or non-fiction and must include work which first published within the last five years.
