Description

Friday Writing Group

We’re starting a friendly, informal writing group at Kett’s! Join us every Friday (or as often as you like) and gift yourself the time to get into that novel you’ve always promised yourself you’d write.

Pens/ laptops at the ready!

  • 10am-11am
  • Every Friday, starting 30 January, usually just in term time. Sessions are bookable approximately a term in advance
  • We can accommodate 8 people in each session – sign up to save your place, or wing it and come on spec!
  • Come along to all or some sessions – it’s flexible!
  • £3 a session*
  • 10% off books purchased on the day only (or 15% off if you’re a Friend)

Our sessions will look something like this:

5 mins   Grab a cuppa, get out your pencils and paper (or laptop)   We’ll have tea and coffee for you. Possibly some biscuits too, if you ask nicely.
15 mins       Freewriting prompt Each week we’ll select a random writing prompt. From this, you’ll take 15 minutes to respond to this however you like.
40 mins        Writing Spend the remaining time working on your own project – or continue on with the free writing task, if you’re feeling inspired.

PLEASE NOTE

This isn’t a class and there isn’t any ‘teaching’; it’s simply an invitation to come and build up your writing practice in a friendly, supportive environment.

There are absolutely no expectations or experience required. You’re under no obligation to either share or discuss your work or anyone else’s. The focus is on creating the space to write, free from the distractions of everyday life.

This being the case (and because we’ll only have an hour) we won’t feedback on each other’s work, but it may be possible to arrange this amongst yourselves.

To save your seat, book here, drop into the shop (we’ll ask you to leave a contact number and email), or message us at hello@kettsbooks.co.uk
